Conor Academy of Irish Dancing is well established in the South London and Surrey areas of the UK and independently run by former World Champion Dancer, Bridie Willis, TCRG, and is registered with "An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha" (The Irish Dancing Commission) the governing body situated in Dublin and which is supported by local councils throughout the world.
Our emphasis is on learning and enjoying dance steps - our Motto is "bain sult as do damhsa - Is bónas é an buaigteoir" (or enjoy your dancing - winning is a bonus). We do however have our fair share of success, and have provided many displays and exhibitions of traditional irish dancing - and have performed at many special events over the years.
ADULT classes are also available on a Thursday evening in Thornton Heath – as well as passing on the cultural heritage and tradition of Irish dance, it can also build stamina and strength; help keep bones healthy; improve posture; improve muscle tone and help with flexibility as well as being good cardiovascular exercise. Also the benefits of remembering the different steps will give your memory a workout too.
